His background includes 12 years of military service in an engineering unit of the Louisiana Army National Guard in which he became an experienced team leader and was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant. He received numerous awards from both the Louisiana Army National Guard as well as the Department of the Army for his dedication as well as his selfless service to his country, and his community. David also graduated at the top of his class at Southeastern Louisiana University and worked as a registered nurse in multiple hospitals in the area.
